Note:
We offer you a post-doctoral research position for 3 years. Your starting salary will be set by the University of Twente salary scale and commensurate with experience. In addition, the collaborative nature of this project will provide the candidate with ample opportunity to interact with many leading scientists working in a wide variety of fields.The post-doctoral researcher will be involved in the development of new piezoelectric and pyroelectric thin-film spacer materials. In addition, the successful candidate will take on supervisory tasks, instructing Ph.D students in day-to-day research activities. The successful applicant will be embedded in an enthusiastic academic environment with world-class fabrication and testing capabilities. You will work closely with leading industrial and research groups. This position will be based at the University of Twente (NL).

The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. in physics or related discipline, with a focus on materials science. Experience with deposition techniques, in particular pulsed laser deposition is essential. Working knowledge of piezoelectric and pyroelectric materials would be a significant advantage. Although not essential, some experience with optics, preferably EUV or X-Ray optics is desirable. The chosen candidate will be an enthusiastic person with good communicative skills, especially in written and spoken English. He or she must be open-minded and flexible in order to thrive in a culturally rich environment and capable of working independently as well as in a team.
